Turtle researchers from the NGO Pro Caguama study and capture the critically endangered Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta) from the town of Puerto Lopez Mateos, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Gulf of California, Sea of Cortez, Pacific Ocean As many as 17 of these turtles wash up dead as bycatch in the gill-net and long-line fisheries each day along the Pacific Coast beaches of Isla Magdalena. The group is trying to educate fisherman to the devistation this is causing in Loggerhead populations in the North Pacific Ocean
