Yellow-footed Gull (Larus livens) on the tidal flats of Puerto Don Juan at low tide in the upper Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez), Mexico. This species is enedemic to only the Gulf of California. Here these gulls have learned to find clams on the low tide, then to fly high and drop them on to rocks to break them open in order to eat the meat inside.
